I have a new lap-pie with it. I can’t help it anyway. Here’s the thing … I’ve been following several blogs from fellow embroiderers working on Nature’s Home Afghan SAL for a few months now. SAL stands for Stitch-a-Long and that means that you are each working with the same pattern. The embroidery pattern of this SAL is divided into blocks and a block is released every month. All you have to do to participate is to sign up at Jacqueline’s embroidery club and post a photo every month of progress. And of course, you have to buy the stuff to get started.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So I followed with great interest the progress of this SAL and last Thursday I also signed up. I’ve been behind for a few months but maybe I can catch up somewhere. It will undoubtedly be a multi-year plan, but that does not matter. It’s just a lot of fun to be busy with different things. And when I browse the various embroidery blogs, I am by no means the only one! I will also keep track of all progress on this SAL here!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I embroider on 18 ctAida fabric and that is the finest (as in fine mesh) fabric I have ever embroidered. It takes some getting used to, but it will be very nice if I say so myself. It’s not going as fast as I thought, but it doesn’t matter. See my first results here. The photo is a bit dark, but it is also nothing more than brown and green!
